The Trent-Severn Waterway is made up of 386 kilometres (210 miles) of interconnected lakes and rivers stretching through central Ontario. Along this stretch of River there are 44 locks which allow water to flow in and out creating the ability for Canal operators to assist in raising or lowering boats to different levels within the waterway. At Lock One during Doors Open you can learn how a lock works and talk to a Lock Master. If you feel the need to stretch your legs take a hike along the Jack Lange Memorial Walkway, a 2.5km trail that runs along the Trent River.
